Welcome to Fayetteville Homeschool Sports, where pursuing greatness goes beyond the court or field. Our homeschool sports program is not just about scoring points; it's about building resilient, confident, and principled young athletes. We believe that true success extends beyond the scoreboard, and our program is designed to instill life skills, foster character development, and create a foundation for holistic excellence.

Mission:
Our mission is to cultivate a community of aspiring athletes who excel in school sports and exhibit exceptional character, sportsmanship, and leadership. We are committed to providing a holistic approach to player development and emphasizing the importance of teamwork, discipline, and integrity.

Competitive Excellence:
While character building is at the core of our program, we also strive for competitive excellence. Our training sessions and game strategies are designed to enhance fundamental skills, tactical understanding, and mental resilience, preparing athletes to compete at the highest levels.

Meet our Staff
President

Brett Chivers

Brett Chivers is a two-time Olympic athlete (1996 & 2000) in the sport of sailing and has competed at every level. He started Fayetteville Homeschool Sports with a passion for developing multi-sport athletes in the homeschool community.  Before becoming a full-time homeschool dad, he served 21+ years in the US Army as an Army Aviator and retired in 2022. He is married to Dr. Elisabeth Chivers, and they have three children at home: Georgia, Caiden, and Rowyn. All three participate in various sports and have brought an appreciation of “Just going for it” and not stressing their skill level when trying a new sport.

Georgia Chivers

Georgia Chivers has lived with her family in Fayetteville, NC, since 2018. She is a proud child of a retired soldier, her dad. Her interests are varied and often entail drawing, painting, or graphic design on the computer. She is enrolled as a Sophomore at Manna University and expects to complete her associate degree by the end of 2024. She has an eye for art and enjoys windsurfing, sailing, judo, and hanging out with friends. As the media director, she oversees website development, management, and social media engagement, including photography and video editing. She also created the FHS logo and set up the merchandise store for the non-profit.

Chairmen of the Board
Dr. Elisbaeth Chivers

Dr. Elisabeth Chivers lives in Fayetteville, NC, with her husband, Brett, and their three children. Elisabeth has been a part of the homeschool community since 2020 and has seen the joys and struggles of homeschooling. The Chivers family has been active in their community and Manna Church since moving to Fayetteville in 2018. Elisabeth has seen her fair share of military life as a wife to a 21+ year combat veteran and embraced being a consistent parent throughout her husband's time in the Army. She has a Juris Doctor from Trinity Law School and a Ph.D. in History from Liberty University. She currently serves as the Chief Compliance Officer at Manna University and Vice President of the Stone-Talents LLC consulting group.

Kathy Barnett
Kathy Barnett is a 25-year veteran homeschool mom of nine children and ten grandchildren. She and her husband reside near Ft. Liberty, NC, where they continue to raise and homeschool their youngest children after her husband's USA SF military retirement. They have stayed active within church and the Fayetteville community for their three decades of living here. She has been an invested part of the homeschool community, including involvement with various coops, prom committees, sports programs, speech and debate, and other extracurricular opportunities through her decades of schooling her children. Kathy has a B.A. in English Language and Literature, is a published author and speaker, and has led countless ministry groups. She loves running on long roads, reading long books, and conversing about what Jesus has done in her life. Kathy loves being Sam's bride, her kids, Mama, and her amazing grandkids, Gemma. Her heart is to see people fulfill their callings through their freedom in Christ.

Dr. Carlo Serrano
Dr. Carlo Serrano lives with his wife, Jaemi, in Fayetteville, NC. They have two adult sons who live in TN. Carlo currently serves as the President of Manna University and Teaching Pastor at Manna Church Fayetteville. He’s a US Army veteran with almost 20 years of non-profit executive leadership experience. He has a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University. When not studying, teaching, or serving his local church, Carlo enjoys Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, strength training, reading (non-fiction), and hanging out with his family.
